The Day of the Allegation
In Season-1 of Battle of the Bands, the judges on the panel were Atif Aslam, Meesha Shafi and Fawad Khan. In Season-2, I was going to replace Atif Aslam. Although I could not render my services under the Pepsi Contract, I was paid the amount. I could not perform my services because on the day and at the moment that I was packing my bags to take the flight to go to Karachi to sit on the panel the following day, Meesha Shafi tweeted her false allegation against me.
This tweet was timed cleverly, mischievously, and with malafide intent at the last moment deliberately to have me dropped from the Season of Battle of the Bands before I could take my flight. This tweet was made on 19th April 2018 at 03:45 P.M. My flight to Karachi was at 06:00 P.M. on the same day. When I read the tweet, I was deeply hurt, emotionally damaged, and mentally disturbed along with my family and friends.
The Attempted Mediation and Refusal
Before Meesha tweeted her allegation, she had sent a message to me through my agent, Mr. Rizwan Raees. The first message was to tell Ali to stay away from "Pepsi Battle of the Bands". I was perturbed to hear this and asked for the reason. The reason was not communicated to me in full clarity for the first time; however, I was communicated that she had her reservations towards working with me because of some incident in the past. I replied that until and unless I am made aware of the reason or the incident, how can I respond?.
